This cake was for my nephew, Connor. His birthday party was a Sherlock Holmes themed party at an old mansion in Shreveport. It was a bit challenging but this is what we ended up with... The hardest part was getting it to Shreveport in one piece!! Especially since we were traveling in Greg's truck and I had to hold it all the way there!! However, we made it and Connor liked it so it was all worthwhile :)

Lauren custom ordered this cake for her eighth birthday party this past weekend. I had planned to do a stacked round but she wanted rectangular...so that is what I did. So you have probably noticed that I'm behind on posting pics on my blog....between computer issues, vacation, and just "life", I've gotten very behind!!! However, I have done lots of cute cookies this summer and will eventually get them all on here.
I've also added a "category" list on here so that it will be easier to find what you are looking for. If there is something you want that isn't on here, just email or call me...I can get a cookie cutter for almost anything!!
As if it's not crazy enough around here, we are in the process of buying a house. We are super excited!! We will be closing in a couple weeks and moving soon thereafter. Because of this, I will not be taking anymore orders for August. I already have several orders on the calendar for September, so call early if you know you will be needing something!

Medicine-Related Cookies

Ok...so this may take a little explaining....a friend of mine is a nurse anesthetist and had surgery recently. She asked me to do some type of medically-related cookies. "Propofol" is a medication used to help put people to sleep for surgery. So, I did vials of Propofol, syringes and hearts with a heart rhythm on them. I did a couple of cookie bouquets for her and then some just individually wrapped cookies. She gave them to everyone who helped take care of her! Wow! What a great patient she must have been!!! ;)

So it's been awhile since I posted...sorry! We are all settled into our house in Ruston and loving it so far! It took me a couple weeks to get everything unpacked and situated...three kids makes it a little more challenging :) We have finally gotten into a routine and I think the kids have adjusted to being in a new place. Now if I could just find a great babysitter so my husband and I could have a date....if any of you know someone that may be interested, please let me know!
I actually got back to baking a couple weeks ago and have done a couple orders...I will post pics later! For now, I will post pics of orders I did before I moved...

Booked for February!!!

Well, I really hate to do this but...I can't take anymore orders for February. I am completely booked up for this month already!! I am so sorry to have to turn anyone away...I am so thankful for each of you and appreciate your continued support of my business.
I also wanted to inform all of you that I will be moving in a few weeks. As many of you know, my husband started working in Ruston back in January. He absolutely loves his job but does not love the daily commute!! Therefore, we will be relocating our family to Ruston at the end of February. We are sad to leave close friends and family but excited about what God has in store for us!!! Besides, we won't be going very far! At this time, I plan to continue taking orders from customers in Shreveport/Bossier. I will be in town at least once a week and can work with you on delivery options. Wow!! It's been a crazy couple of weeks around here...but all the cookies are baked and orders filled for Christmas. Thanks to all my wonderful customers. I hope everyone enjoyed their cookies :)
I have decided not to take any new orders until after January 1st. But I have lots of new ideas brewing so check back soon!
I plan to take the next couple of weeks off and have fun with my kids! I hope you will enjoy time with your family as well. The real reason for the season is the birth of Jesus...may we all strive to remember this during this busy and sometimes stressful time!

Christmas Cookies

Ok....so finally...here are the available Christmas cookies...they are $1.25/ea and will be bagged with ribbon, as usual. The cookies pictured here are about 4 inches. I also have three larger ones available that are about 6 inches tall...there is a christmas tree, snowflake, and snowman. They are $1.50/ea. And... I now have personalized Christmas "favor tags" to go on the bagged cookies if you are interested. They will say Merry Christmas and then "From: enter your child's name". They are $4.00/dozen. Happy 1st Birthday Addison!! I really enjoyed doing these cookies and I thought they turned out pretty cute. Crossroads Retreat

went and scrapbooked all weekend! It was a wonderful

My daughter requested a "castle cake" for her 6th birthday party. I spent weeks planning the creation of this cake. The main challenge was the towers and turrets...and also how to get them to stand without destroying the cake! Once I had a plan, the cake was relatively simple to do. I enjoyed doing it and my daughter loved it. Thanks to my "dear hubby" for helping with the "assembly" of the towers!

For goodie bags I made these crown cookies and added the princess and prince frog suckers to the bag for an extra treat!

Why I started baking cakes.....

I have always enjoyed baking and decorating cakes and cookies. I started out just doing "Christmas Cookies" for my family and co-workers. After my children were born, I began to bake the cakes for their birthday parties. My boys had a combined birthday party this year...they are ages 1 and 2....and they love choo choos, especially Thomas. So I baked a 3-D train cake with boxcars and a caboose. They loved it, and I really enjoyed doing it! After having several people ask me to bake cakes for them...I realized that I should start working from home...baking cakes and cookies! I feel that God has given me this opportunity to be at home with my children and at the same time earn an income doing something I enjoy. I treasure my role as "mommy" and enjoy the blessing that they are to me each and every day. My desire is to provide custom cakes and cookies at reasonable prices. I love to be creative and welcome any new ideas.
